| FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
At Prestige, we understand how hard it can be to find the right care for your pet. This business was started on a passion for animals and the understanding that most pets would prefer to stay in their own home when their 'parents' temporarily cannot care for them. Our passion drives us every day to provide the best possible service and provide solutions to all your pet care needs!
Is Prestige insured and bonded? •Yes, all of our employees are insured and bonded. Any potential employee is required to pass a drug screen and a background check as well.
What qualifications do your sitters have? •First and foremost, a passion for animals. They are trained in Pet First Aid and generally have a care background (shelter volunteer, foster care, rescue work or vet tech, etc)
How does the pet service work? •The service is personalized for each client. However, the general service consists of 20-25 minutes with your pet(s) - this can include everything from feeding and walking your pet to picking up mail and watering plants in your home. Extended times are available for those who would like more pets and pats for their pet buddies due to extended trips, hours, etc.
How does the pet photography work? •If you would like a photograph of your pet, the artist is able to go to your home, area park, etc. to take your pet's photo in an environment s/he is comfortable in. If you prefer a watercolor or other style of artwork for your home, we can either take a new photo of your pet as described above, or you can provide a photo of your pet (it will be returned with the finished project).
What other services do you provide? •We provide a pet taxi service - if you don't have time to take your pet buddies to the vet or the groomers, we can handle that for you. We have delivered pets to the airport, "Grandma's" and other various locations. We also provide an errand service - does Fido need more food? Does Miss Kitty need more litter? We can handle that for you, too.
Who will sit for my pet?
•During the initial consultation, you will meet the sitter assigned to
your pet. We believe that pets do best when they have a relationship
with the person that cares for them. On the rare occasion that another
sitter must provide service, we will do our best to match the sitter
with the pet.
What happens in case of an emergency? •With cell phones these days, immediate contact is easy - the first step is a call to you. A more detailed emergency plan will be discussed during the initial consultation, including a disaster plan if necessary. This is covered in Prestige's paperwork.
I worry about my pet when I'm away - how does Prestige provide peace of mind? •Personalized service is what Prestige is all about. After each visit, a handwritten detailed card is left, letting you know how that visit went. Depending on length assignment and situation, phone calls, e-mails, photos and even videos can be sent (limited to your e-mail availability) of your pet.
Is there a minimum number of visits required? •No - Prestige offers a very personalized service - some clients require several visits a day, where others request only one. Our service can be customized to suit your needs. Need to spend the day out of the house running errands? Are you traveling and want your pets to be in their own homes? Prestige can provide solutions to these situations and more!
What are your hours? When do you provide service? •We provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This can vary slightly, depending on holidays and scheduling.
How much notice is required to schedule service? •While it's best to provide as much notice as possible (preferably 48 hours or more), last minute service requests can sometimes be fulfilled, scheduling permitting.
What is your cancellation policy? •We require 48 hours notice to cancel scheduled service - less than 48 hours notice will result in billing for scheduled service.
What type of pets do you sit for? •ALL kinds! No animal too big or too small!
Do you offer overnight visits or boarding in your own homes? •Yes, on a limited basis, space permitted. When boarding in the pet sitter's home, a prior consultation is necessary to determine sociability of pet. Generally, we find that pets do better in their own homes, with multiple visits.
Are you able to handle special cases (medical issues, geriatric pets, etc) •Yes, we can. Medications, injections, bandage changes, special care - no problem.
Do you handle multiple pets? •Yes. Each situation is unique. A phone call is the best way to determine what will work best for you!
Do you have references? •Yes. References can be provide upon request, after the initial consultation.
